Greetings one and all! Here I am with a quick update as to what has been going on.
We have been going non-stop since the beginning of the year. Dad taught a seminar for us on Homosexuality (which I mentioned in my last report) and we started our first session of classes on January 16 (which just so happens to be Andrew's 3rd birthday!). I had only one class this session, a one-on-one study of Jesus: Lord of Our Lives, where we talk about the Scheme of Redemption. We met twice a week for the six weeks of the session right before graduation, on February 22, Aaron realized that he was not where he needed to be with God and decided to be immersed! He has been very busy since then with his job, doing much work overtime, and he went to his hometown of Cagayan de Oro after work settled down, so unfortunately we haven't seen him much. Please keep our new brother in your prayers, that he will remember his commitment no matter the struggles and distractions that get in the way.
When we planned for our next session of classes, we were very encouraged to have all the graduates from Dad's teacher training course joined us. We had almost 20 teachers there! This was extremely helpful as Jon and Gina will not be able to teach for the next few months due to their furlough plans.
We held our Session 1 graduation on February 25 and went straight into enrollment week for our two mini-sessions. Jon taught our seminar where he discussed the issue of whether or not we should keep the Sabbath today. During the enrollment week we were overwhelmed by the help our members gave us in distributing flyers and going house-to-house to invite people to join us. We had many new students drop in and join and yesterday night we had many people here! It was exciting to see so many people and have so many classes going on at once! I enjoyed myself thoroughly. My only class this week is with Gaddiel Puzon, the daughter of Ronaldo and Joy Puzon. She is 13 years old and quite a jewel. We're having our second class tonight in Bible Geography part 1, where we look at the Bible lands and talk about the events which occurred there during the life of Jesus.
We all went to the airport last night to send off Jon, Gina, and Sean. They are currently somewhere over the Pacific Ocean flying to Texas and they arrive in Houston, TX about 2PM Central time. Please keep them and their safety in your prayers. As you all probably know, Gina is currently expecting a new addition to the Murrell family (yay!), and Sean is a 2 3/4 year old toddler. I'm sure they are looking forward to seeing everyone when they get settled in, let me know if you need their contact information so you can visit with them.
Well, that's about it for now. I have another class with Gaddiel and Samuel Gacrama (my assistant teacher this session) at 7:00 PM, so I have some studying to do, as well as some other BSC duties as the senior missionary on staff (gulp!). Please keep all our efforts, our safety and health, and also our personal struggles and difficulties. I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for your continued friendship and love. May God bless you all! :)
In him,
Sara Murrell
